The Coast Bill & Coo -The Leading Hotels of the World Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to The Coast Bill & Coo -The Leading Hotels of the World, honestly, I wasn’t prepared for how stunning this place would be. Perched on the hillside of Agios Ioannis in Mykonos, this five-star property feels like it was carved directly into the Aegean landscape. The whitewashed buildings cascade down toward the sea, and you know what — the photos online really don’t do it justice. There’s something about the way the light hits those infinity pools that makes you stop and just stare for a moment.
The Setting
Agios Ioannis is actually one of my favorite spots on the island because it’s far enough from Mykonos Town to feel peaceful, but close enough that you’re not completely isolated. The hotel sits right above one of the island’s most beautiful beaches — I mean, you can literally walk down to the sand in about three minutes. What really struck me was how they’ve managed to create this sense of complete privacy while still giving you those incredible sunset views that Mykonos is famous for. The free parking is a godsend too, especially during peak season when finding a spot anywhere else on the island becomes a nightmare.
Luxury Accommodations
My room was essentially a private sanctuary with its own terrace and plunge pool — and I’m not exaggerating when I say the view from my bed was better than most hotel lobbies I’ve seen. The design is this perfect blend of Cycladic architecture and contemporary luxury, with those signature white walls and pops of blue that somehow never feel cliché. The bathroom alone was bigger than some hotel rooms I’ve stayed in, complete with a rainfall shower that overlooks the sea. Actually, everything about the space felt thoughtfully designed, from the locally-sourced marble to the way they’ve positioned the furniture to maximize those panoramic views.
Dining Experience
The breakfast here is something special — they offer both full English and American options, but honestly, I found myself gravitating toward the Greek specialties they prepare fresh each morning. The restaurant terrace becomes this magical spot during dinner service, especially when the sun starts setting over Delos island in the distance. I spent most evenings there with a glass of Assyrtiko, watching the sky turn every shade of pink and orange you can imagine. The service feels effortless in that way that only truly luxury properties manage to achieve.
Why Guests Love It
There’s a reason couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways — the entire property feels designed for intimate moments and quiet luxury. The staff somehow manages to be attentive without being intrusive, and the spa treatments using local herbs and sea salt are absolutely worth booking. What really sets this place apart, though, is how it captures the essence of Mykonos without any of the chaos that can sometimes overwhelm the island. You get that authentic Greek island experience, complete with incredible sunsets and crystal-clear waters, but wrapped in the kind of sophisticated comfort that makes you never want to leave.
The luxury concierge service in Mykonos secures helipad transfers, villa chefs, and moonlit tables at hidden beach fêtes.
