First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Luxurious Villa Ostria, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a four-star property tucked away on Elia Beach. But you know what? This place surprised me in the best way possible. The villa sits right on one of Mykonos’ most beautiful stretches of sand, and there’s something refreshingly understated about it — no flashy lobby or over-the-top entrance, just this elegant whitewashed building that feels like it belongs exactly where it is.

Elia Beach is actually one of the longer beaches on the island, which means you get that gorgeous golden sand without feeling cramped between other sunbathers. What I love about staying right here is that you can literally roll out of bed and be on the beach in minutes — no crowded bus rides or expensive taxi trips into town. The water’s this incredible turquoise color, and honestly, some of the best snorkeling I’ve done in the Greek islands has been right off this beach. You’ll also find diving and horseback riding options nearby, though I’ll admit the snorkeling kept me busy enough.

The Room Experience

My room had this perfect balance of comfort and style — clean lines, white linens, and these amazing sea views that made me want to keep the curtains open all day. The apartment-style layout gives you more space than your typical hotel setup, and I actually appreciated having a proper kitchen area. It’s not huge, but perfect for making morning coffee or keeping some snacks and drinks cold. The whole space feels airy and bright, with those traditional Cycladic touches that remind you you’re definitely in Greece.

Practical Perks

Here’s something that might not sound exciting but made my stay so much easier — the free parking right on site. If you’re planning to rent a car and explore the island (which I’d definitely recommend), this is actually a huge deal. Parking in Mykonos can be a nightmare, especially during peak season. The staff here is genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. They gave me some great recommendations for local tavernas that I never would have found otherwise, including this little family-run place about ten minutes away that serves the best grilled octopus I’ve had.

What really sets Villa Ostria apart is how it manages to feel both relaxing and well-positioned for exploring. Couples seem to particularly love it here — and I can see why. There’s something romantic about having direct beach access while still being close enough to Mykonos Town for dinner or nightlife.
