Here’s what I love about staying in Platis Gialos — you’re literally steps from one of Mykonos’ most beautiful beaches, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of Mykonos Town. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the town is fun for a night out, but when you want to actually relax? This spot is perfect. The beach here has this gorgeous golden sand, and the water stays relatively calm compared to some of the windier spots on the island. Plus, there’s parking available for free, which — trust me — is a huge deal on an island where finding a spot can cost you both time and sanity.

The Room Experience

My room had this clean, minimalist design that somehow felt both modern and timeless. The best part? That view. Most rooms here face the sea, and waking up to that endless blue every morning never gets old. The bathroom was spacious with a rainfall shower, and honestly, the attention to detail was impressive — from the quality linens to the way everything just worked perfectly. Air conditioning was powerful (essential in summer), and the Wi-Fi actually delivered on its promises, which isn’t always a given on the Greek islands.

Dining and Daily Rhythms

The continental breakfast spread was better than I expected — fresh pastries, local honey, Greek yogurt that actually tasted like it came from happy goats, and strong coffee that could wake the dead. They serve it on this lovely terrace where you can watch the beach come alive in the morning. There’s also a restaurant on-site that does excellent Mediterranean cuisine, though I’d recommend making reservations because word has gotten out about their seafood dishes. The service throughout felt genuinely warm rather than just professionally polite.

Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places on Mykonos, and what sets Branco apart is how it manages to feel both luxurious and relaxed. You’re not paying for flashy amenities you’ll never use — instead, you’re getting exactly what you need for a perfect Greek island experience. The location means you can walk to excellent tavernas, the beach is your backyard, and when you want to explore the rest of the island, you’re perfectly positioned. It’s the kind of place where you actually end up extending your stay because leaving feels like a mistake.
